A crazy idea : capturing a surprise wedding proposal
In December 2022, Justine reached out to me to help her bring a slightly crazy idea to life…
She wanted to organize a photo session for a surprise marriage proposal — to ask for the hand of Juliane, the woman she loves. Justine wanted to capture all the emotion of that moment, without Juliane suspecting a thing.
As a photographer, I couldn’t resist such a challenge. So, we planned what was supposed to be a simple couple photo session at Parc de la Tête d’Or in Lyon, and I waited for the signal from my accomplice — the moment she let me know it was time!
A magical moment : the surprise wedding proposal
Justine got down on one knee, her heart pounding, and spoke the long-awaited words: “Will you marry me?”
In that very moment, I was able to capture Juliane’s radiant “yes,” her beaming smile, and her tear-filled eyes sparkling with joy.
That instant — frozen in time despite the bustle of the park around them — will remain forever etched in my photos.
Capturing the raw emotion of a surprise proposal is always a true privilege for me as a wedding photographer.
A few months later, this same couple reached out to me again for a new chapter in their story: to capture their wedding day, sealing their love forever.
Being able to tell their full story through images — from the surprise proposal to the big day — was an incredible experience.

After capturing their surprise proposal, it was such a joy to reunite with Justine and Juliane for their wedding at La Factory — a stunning venue near Lyon that beautifully blends industrial and bohemian styles.
The entire day was filled with love, connection, and kindness — values that deeply resonated with them, and with me.
From the emotional preparations to the lively evening celebration, every moment was a tribute to their unique story.
