Urban engagement photoshoot in Perth: A Nepali Couple’s Story Before Their Wedding
Some love stories begin quietly, in classrooms, in shared glances, on school benches, and grow into something powerful.
This Nepali couple’s story is exactly that. Before flying back home to get married in February, they wanted to capture a part of their journey here in Australia.
So we met for an engagement photoshoot in Perth, unlike any other.
A love story that started in high school
They met years ago, back in Nepal, when they were still students.
What began as friendship slowly evolved into a beautiful, grounded and deeply respectful relationship. Today, they’re preparing to celebrate their wedding surrounded by their families back home, but before that, they wanted to create memories here, in the city where they’ve built a part of their life together.
An editorial, documentary and paparazzi-inspired session in the middle of Perth
For their engagement photoshoot in Perth, we chose the CBD, tall buildings, reflective glass, busy streets, and that unmistakable urban energy.
The perfect setting for an editorial and documentary approach.
I wanted to mix modern city vibes with candid intimacy:
quick glances, stolen smiles, movement, textures, reflections…
something raw, honest and stylish.
The goal:
photos that look straight out of a magazine, but still feel like them.
A touch of paparazzi energy made the session spontaneous and fun — walking across intersections, blending in with the city flow, letting the real-life chaos become part of the story.
Nothing staged. Nothing forced.
Just pure authenticity with an editorial edge.
Why an engagement session matters
An engagement session is more than a warm-up before the wedding:

For them, this session was also a way to celebrate their journey before returning to Nepal — a moment suspended between two worlds, two cultures, two continents.

Even though this engagement photoshoot in Perth took place in Australia, it fully reflects my photographic style.
